Should I Be Early for an Interview?

Michael Pollock discusses the pros and cons of arriving on time or early for a job interview.  The Japanese show up half an hour ahead and sit outside reading a book until the appointed time. Because they believe it is rude to show up early.

Show up just a few minutes ahead of time to allow yourself to acclimate to the place, have a bumper for slow elevator service or long security lines.

Allow time to chat up the interviewer’s assistant or receptionist.  But just a few minutes – that is all.
